No, You must be hard on the trailer brakes, are you? 4 cylinder engine not sure if you will get much braking effort, but definitely worth a try. I'd say you will have to go the custom build route.

Ford had a truck out a number of years ago (Ford Transcontinental) they were all fitted with Cummins engines that had a very efficient exhaust brake. It was a flat plate that completely closed the exhaust off. It was just after the turbo in the exhaust system. Most of the modern types are butterflies that don't fully close off the pipe, especially after a few hours work. You may need an air supply as they are all pressure controlled, but may be easily converted to electric/hydraulic.

It certainly would be a nice winter project. Let me know how you get on.

the reason why I want exhaust brakes on a 6470 is because it has a 4 cyl short stroke engine because of this it doesn't shaft like a 6 cyl would with a longer stroke plus there is 2 extra cyls. I find when I go down a bank with the 6470 with a laden trailer it  revs up very quick and I have to use the brakes, not to slow down but to stop it over reving ( I had a 6 cyl before the 6470).

Just as a matter of interest, did you try turning off the engine? If you cutoff all diesel to the engine it might give you the desired affect. It wont be as good as an exhaust brake but it will be easier to install. Even if you go ahead with the brake you will have to ensure the diesel is controlled when the brake is applied. Because if the hand-throttle was holding the engine flat out and you accidentally hit the exhaust brake, not good.
