Berkshire College of Agriculture opened up their campus to the general public over the weekend under the banner 'Lambing Event'. In reality this was a lot more than just about lambing it was a chance to educate, inform and show off their offer and how it fits in with the total rural landscape with all the competing demands on its resources.
I spoke to many visitors who were both new comers and returnees and not one person had a bad word to say about the event, the content or the event organisation. Familes were there in number enjoying some decent weather hopefully learning a lot and leaving with a little bit better understanding of the tremendously complex business of managing natural resources in a way that benefits all.
Bravo to the College executive, staff and students.
