    Wet weather woes

We ran a bit of a live chat for a couple of hours for people to pitch in with how the weather has been affecting them. You can find the comments here:

    http://www.fwi.co.uk/Articles/2008/08/19/111713/wet-weather-problems-share-your-problems-and-experiences.html

I'm closing the live chat bit for now - but feel free to continue here.

Not been too bad here, mind we will not start until October. Indian summer anyone?

A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything.

I have to wonder if our weather is tied to yours.  Markw informed me that in 2006 he had a drouth, as did we here in Kansas.  Last year during wheat harvest we had way too much rain, as did the UK.  We are having a very cool and wet August, as you in the UK seem to be having.  I noted over on the BFF someone from Scotland mentioning 1985 as being very wet, I believe that 1985 was the wettest year ever in my part of Kansas, 58 inches of rainfall.

Right now, it is cool with mist, nice on my mown hay.  When I cut the Sudan grass Monday, it was suppose to be a dry week.  That lasted until Monday night.  Now it is a misty, drizzly kind of week, more like March than August.

Spot sprayed thistles this afternoon, hopefully the one hour break before downpours washed it all off might have left time for the killer to give the thistles a headache.

20mm again last night, had feed in my sprayer for 2 days now! Mixed and ready to go and opened my booms and hey presto the heavans broke loose and have forced me to abonden it and draw up the blueprint and order materials for an ark!

They say the animals went in 2 by 2, do i really have to put 2 managers on it for future breeding or shall i do all us underlings a favour and leave them to their meetings about meetings? Wink

I'm tired of political jokes, ive seen too many of them get elected....

Has rained pretty solid since the early hours down in Sussex - with forecast of 20mm for the day - with more to come in the next week. My hopes of a late summer look pretty folorn!

Heard on the radio it was officially the dullest August on record, with the average sunshine hours in England 60 hours below the norm - I dont remember having any.
