    What make of dung spreader

Can anyone tell me what is the best make of rear discharge dung spreader. We currently have a rotaspreader but it takes weeks to get the job done. Local dealer sells teagle and fraser, says teagle is a better machine but it's French.

    What make of dung spreader

We hire our muck spreaders in a coouple of times a year and usually get a 9 tonne Bunnings or 14 tonne Richard Westerns, both very good machines, however Samsons are supposed to be excellent but a lot of money, We cover about 50 acres after harvest and it takes us 2 days with 2 14 tonne spreaders. A lot cheaper than owning one.

We hire a 12t. K-Two Duo spreader for a few weeks each year to spread a few hundred tonnes of dung. We have found it to be a good spreader but for the little bit we use it its not worth the investment of a brand new one. I would agree that Smasons are very good and I know of a few old models locally which are still going well and have been given a lot of stick.

We hire a Samson 1009 speading FYM and Poultry litter, an excellent machine with a large appetite, especially compared with a rotaspreader. We pull it with ease with 100hp on the front, although you would need more horses if working on banky ground.
