    Wire worm problem

Have planted grass seed into a paddock , after ploughing up grass. The wire worms have munched their way through most of the new shoots, which is about right as it's next to the road! So how do people get rid of the little blighters, as it seams most of the chemicals have been banned? Any advice will be greatly received.

    Wire worm problem

Summer fallow?? Grow cereals with a wireworm dressing for 5 years. Perhaps there is a similar product for grass??? Perhaps a pioneer crop of a forage brassica with a gigant dressing would help. Wireworms are the larvae of the click beetle and have a SEVEN YEAR life cycle so good luck.

    Wire worm problem

Once was told a crop of mustard ploughed in would help, though not tried it personally.
