Richard Larrington - a familiar name in the trailer game - is determined to break into the cultivation arena. Taking centre stage on the company's stand at LAMMA was this Dutch Farmax spading machine. Apparently designed to be a one-pass cultivation tool, it has a row of rigid tines up front which loosen the ground ahead of the main spade rotor. Rotating at 70rpm this cuts and inverts the soil down to a depth of 500mm (20in) and is followed by a powered packer roll. The 3m unit needs about 200hp to operate effectively and can carry a piggy-back mounted drill for complete stubble-to-seedbed operations. It costs £27,000.
