    The latest figures are that the total value of payments made under the 2007 Single Payment Scheme (SPS) is £863.0 million which is 59.5% of the estimated total fund of £1.45 billion. A total of 79,660 customers have received a full SPS payment. This represents 74.7% of the estimated total claimant population...

    The lack of a mention for early SFP in the government's £12.5m package is a disappointment. I guess things might be better than last year (each year must get easier for them) but payments only really got going in February and checking the RPA's website I notice that they only completed 2006 payments...

    RPA inspectors continuing to go on farm is utterly extraordinary. If there was a known risk of an outbreak of MRSA on a hospital ward, would they continue with a building inspection? The good will towards the government over its response so far to the outbreak will soon turn sour if Gordon doesn't...
