Could any body give me some advice please. I have 23 acres of pasture land which is flat and reasonably well drained, could you please tell me how many sheep plus 1 tup could graze this amount of land comfortably.
    Please email me at juliemrestall@aol.com

    thanking you in anticipation

Depends on grass type/quality, fertiliser use and location, but should be able to take upto 5 ewes with lambs per acre if reasonable quality and fertiliser use, maybe more if push it.

i could not e-post this you can get about 150 sheep pluss a tup on the pice of land for about a week unless you stripp graze it then it will be longer. the higher the dencity of sheep on any ground the higher the poching and disease rate and the slower the recovery rate of both pasture and stock

Depending on the type of grass/ age of the lay ect we have a 14 acre permanant pasture which can hold 200 sheep for about a week less when the grass is slow growing. After we have had sheep on the field we leave it for as much of a fortnight as possible to let a decent amount of grass grow again and to try and control the worm infestations.
