Farmers, their families and friends will be joining industry representatives tonight (2 October) in London to find out who the winners are of the 2014 Farmers Weekly Awards.
The evening is a celebration of hard-working farmers and farming businesses in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, who show the best qualities of excellence in agriculture.
Farmers will receive awards across 15 farming categories with the overall winner, the Farmer of the Year 2014, being announced by Defra secretary, Liz Truss. You can see who is on the shortlist and read about them on our Awards site here.
The evening will also recognise a special individual for the Farming Champion of the Year award and a person who has devoted a lifetime to agriculture in the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The winners will be announced live from the event via Twitter, so make sure you are following @FarmersWeekly. Full write-ups of the winners will be on FWi from 11pm.
The Farmers Weekly Awards is the best night out in the farming calendar. This year 1,200 guests will attend the event at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel. The evening kicks off with a champagne reception, followed by a three-course British-inspired menu.
The Awards will be announced by a celebrity presenter – top-secret until the event and afterwards the guests can hit the real ale bar and dance to the live band until the early hours of the morning.
If you can’t be there, make sure to follow us on Twitter for news and photos of the Award winners.
