Practical workshops a key feature at Fertile Minds conference

Practical workshops will be a key feature at this year’s Fertile Minds conference for young farmers.

Delegates will have three workshops to choose from, with everyone getting the chance to attend two.

One workshop that is expected to be well attended is “How to realise your business/diversification dream”. This will be a practical session that will focus delegates’ attention on the customer, and from that generate ideas, delve into branding and marketing and, importantly, equip them with the knowledge to gain access to funding.

Also on the programme is a workshop that will give an insight into different farming options when land isn’t freely available. Delegates will hear first-hand the ins and outs of initiatives such as share farming, contract farming and securing a farm tenancy. Christopher Price from the CLA and Tom Rawson from Evolution Farming are just some of the people already confirmed to speak in this session.

The third workshop on the line-up will cover the issue of succession planning. This session will tackle common succession scenarios and provide delegates with the know-how to approaching these issues. Legal and tax implications will also be covered in this session.

Find out more about the line-up by going to FWi . If you are interested in attending you must register by 10 October. Space is strictly limited to 150, so getting registering now.
