A charity auction celebrating the opening of an Ernest Doe and Sons outlet has raised £3730 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The new facility in Braintree is one of 19 branches that the agricultural, construction and horticultural machinery business has in East Anglia and the south-east.

“We are delighted to be able to help Macmillan continue its good work and to help more families get the support they need at what is a very trying time,” said Graham Parker, sales director for Ernest Doe and Sons.

Vicki Gannon, area fundraising manager for Macmillan, added: “People living in rural areas are harder to reach and can face inequalities. We want to reach everyone, and the support of companies like Ernest Doe and Sons will help us achieve this.”
