A farmer says he is under attack after four incidents on his farm in under a week.
Peter Thomas runs Home Farm, near Market Harborough, on the Leicestershire/Northamptonshire border.
On 9 June, a derelict jeep was set alight by arsonists, while the fuel tank of a tractor was deliberately damaged the following Monday, leading to a large diesel spillage.
The next day police were called out after a bulldozer’s fuel tank was smashed. Two hours after that his barn – once used as a Second World War anti-aircraft station by the RAF – was destroyed after being engulfed in flames.
“I’m spending every day of my life combating urban terrorists, if I can call them that” said Mr Thomas. “I rarely report anything to the police because there is so much paper-work to do.”
A police spokesman said: “Mr. Thomas has made us aware that there have been certain incidents in the past, apart from these.”
