A campaign urging the public to buy British food has been launched by the NFU and the National Pig Association.

The initiative aims to get as many farmers and growers as possible to erect 15ft by 4ft #buybritish banners on their land near prime locations. So far more than 200 people have backed the scheme, which coincides with the Trust the Tractor initiative, supported by Assured Food Standards and AHDB.

“The banner campaign will enable us to tell the British public why it is important to trust the Red Tractor in an eye-catching and memorable way,” said Richard Cattell, head of marketing and communications for Red Tractor Assurance.

“Now more than ever it’s important to know the food you are buying comes from a trusted source.”
