THE NATIONAL Farmers Union‘s food and farming roadshow has started its sixth tour of England and Wales.

The roadshow, which is sponsored by Tesco, was launched at the School Farm Fair at the Suffolk Showground on Wed (Apr 28).

The union believes the roadshow plays an important role in raising awareness of the relationship between food, farming, the countryside and the Little Red Tractor logo.

This year‘s tour will take in more than 150 locations throughout the summer months.

Venues include agricultural and food shows, Tesco supermarkets, farmers‘ markets, farm shops and town centres.

NFU roadshow presenter Johnny Ball said: “I absolutely love touring the UK and helping people of all ages connect with the countryside.”

“Many people living in an urban environment, have little or no contact with the countryside or farming.

“The roadshow is often the only experience most will have of the farmers that produce the food they eat everyday.”

Children visiting the roadshow will receive Red Tractor goodies, including badges, stickers and mini-flags.
