Bob Howat and Jim McLaren have been elected as vice-presidents of NFU Scotland.

Mr McLaren from Crieff is newly elected to the post while Mr Howat, who farms in the Borders and Fife, has been re-elected to serve a fourth year in the role.

John Kinnaird has entered his fourth and final year as president of the union.

Mr Kinniard is currently serving his final two-year term. He will stand down in 2007 when the post of president will be subject to election.
