The black-and-white category of the Farmers Weekly Photography Competition is always stunning, and this year is no exception.
With a £250 top prize, the contest has attracted thousands of entries, from pets to people and wildlife to machinery.
The closing date of the competition is 30 October, so this week is the last opportunity to enter.
Here are a selection of some of the beautiful and mysterious black-and-white entries.
Captioned “Spreading straw for a comfy bed”, this shot was taken in Lincolnshire and uploaded by Gambles.
Gallery user SarBar uploaded this photo of pheasant on the fence. Called “Sit here girls, don’t fly”, it was taken in East Sussex in October 2015.
This shot of a Cattle Cake Crusher uploaded by Jenny B could contend in the Machinery category too.
Captured at Whitehouse Farm, “hross” titled this snap “Just Milked”.
