Record results for Highland Show organisers

The Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland has posted a record turnover of £6.35m for 2010.

Despite the economy’s slow recovery from the financial crisis, the RHASS achieved 1.8% growth in turnover, invested £1m in renovating the Lowland Hall, increased their award and prize fund by £50,000, to more than £428,000, and delivered an operating surplus of more than £1m.

It says all the surplus will be put back into the society’s activities and redevelopment of the Ingliston showground outside Edinburgh.

The 2011 Royal Highland Show runs from 23-26 June.
