Tractor driver’s funeral wish is honoured

A former farm worker, who had always said that he wanted to go to his funeral on a tractor, has had his final wish met.

Frank Hardy from Lincs, who died suddenly on 17 March at the age of 62, was escorted to his final resting place by two tractors, provided by local McCormick dealer David Grundy Agricultural.

Mr Hardy worked on Bruce Large’s 400 acres Grange Farm, North Hykeham for 41 years but left in 2000 when the business gave up cows and started being farmed using contractors.

“The crematorium was packed with standing room only for a tractor driver who was always smiling, “said Mr Large

“We will all miss him, but like all farms the memories will live on.”

Mr Hardy leaves four children, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
