More than 4,000 members of Young Farmers Clubs from across England and Wales are travelling to for the biggest weekend in the YFC calendar.

The three-day AGM and convention, returning to the Devon town after last year’s visit to Blackpool, kicks off on 27 April and features a packed programme of events.

The Agriculture and Rural Affairs forum will see Young Farmers discuss and debate key issues with industry leaders, while a series of social events will give them the chance to party into the early hours. The organisation’s president, TV star Matt Baker, will also be putting in an appearance.

A team from Yorkshire Federation made the 300-mile journey from Sheffield on mobility scooters raising cash for the Sue Ryder charity.

There’s a long tradition of Yorkshire Young Farmers travelling to the AGM in weird and wonderful ways, explained team member Andrew Wood.

“It started off as a daft idea – but hopefully we will raise thousands of pounds,” he added.

Meanwhile, the FW team will be out and about during the course of the whole weekend, sporting our bright yellow T shirts – so come and say hello if you spot us.
