Big launch in Shropshire

Carter Jonas is about to launch a large north Shropshire arable farm that should appeal to local farmers and residential buyers.

Kynnersley Manor at Kynnersley, near Telford, has 407 acres of Grade 2 soil that can grow potatoes as well as sugar beet.

But selling agent Mark Laws said only a small tonnage of beet was grown, so it would not be unduly affected by the closure of
British Sugar’s nearby Allscott factory.

The farm, which is being sold after the retirement of Richard Ford, whose family moved there in 1945, has a six-bedroom Regency house that should prove attractive to people moving from other areas of the UK like the south east, said Mr Laws.

He has guided the whole farm at 2.25m and the land is available in three lots for about 3500/acre.

“I’m anticipating a lot of local interest.”
