McCartneys’ Knighton office successfully sold three lots of land at auction last week, most of it to the local community.

The highlight was 16.35-acre Castle Hill, mainly rough grazing and woodland, but with the remains of Knucklas Castle where it is said that King Arthur married Guinevere. The bidding started at £30,000 and the land was sold at £40,000 (£2446/acre).

Another 4.69 acres of pasture land adjoining Knucklas Castle Hill attracted several bidders and was finally sold to the Knucklas Community Land Trust for £46,000 (£9808/acre). A further 3.24 acres sold at £36,000.
