Hornton heading for lotted sale

Fisher German this week expected to begin the sale of substantial parts of the Hornton Grounds Estate and Manor Farm near Banbury, Oxfordshire.

With almost 850 acres, a substantial 12-bedroom listed house, three other houses and three farmsteads, finding buyers for the estate as a whole proved harder as the year progressed, said the firm’s Paul Clayson.

“Purchasers have certainly retreated from the market over the past six months and the bare land market is not as hot as it was.” But in most cases the main issue was lack of confidence rather than lack of money, he said.
