One of the world’s top hotels has already placed an order for Scotch beef, following the EU decision to end all export restrictions.

The Columbus Monaco, co-owned by Formula 1 racing driver David Coulthard and Scot Ken McCulloch, wants Scotch beef on the menu as soon as possible.

“We have a policy of sourcing the finest ingredients for our guests and, now that trading restrictions on Scotch beef have been lifted, it will have pride of place on the Columbus Monaco menu,” said Mr McCulloch.

Quality Meat Scotland also revealed that leading Dutch importer Chateaubriand had taken delivery of beef this week for a celebratory lunch in Amsterdam.
