Agents in the south west are gearing up for a busy late spring with a plethora of new launches.

For anybody looking for a stunning view, David Cross of Savills’ Salisbury office is selling Hole Farm at Alderbury, with the cathedral’s spire clearly visible across its land.

A former dairy unit, the 128-acre Wiltshire property comes with a five-bed house and Mr Cross is looking for offers over £1.6m. He said all the farm’s grass was virtually organic with no sprays applied for the past 30 years and only limited use of fertiliser.

In neighbouring Dorset, Mr Cross also has a 700-acre dairy unit up his sleeve, which is due to be launched in mid May.

Dorset specialist Charles Matthews, of Symonds & Sampson, is set for a mammoth run of 10 sales covering 1500 acres and totalling almost £18m.

Cruxton Manor at Maiden Newton, near Dorchester, is the largest at 339 acres. The former dairy unit, priced at £1.75m, has no house but there was outline planning consent for a sizeable new dwelling with annexe, said Mr Matthews.

Manor Farm at Hilton, near Blandford Forum, is a 112-acre farm with a Grade II listed house. It is priced at £2.75m. Hambledon Farm, also near Blandford Forum, is a 226-acre former dairy farm with a four-bed house in need of modernisation and a guide price of £1.5m.

Mr Matthews said he had more to come and there was no real pattern to any of the sales. “I think maybe it’s just our turn this year.”
