Buyers looking in the south west have far more choice than those in the east. At Owermoigne, Dorset, the 202-acre North Holworth Farm near Portland Bill, is on the market with a guide price of £1.9m.


The unit has recently returned to conventional dairying from organic. Productive lime rich soils would suit continued use for dairy, mixed or arable production, says agent Stags.

Stags recently sold Manor Farm, Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton, a 160-acre mixed unit with a tied farmhouse at auction for £1.92m, well above its £1.4m guide. It also moved a 129-acre stock unit, Thurle Farm near Chulmleigh, Devon, with house for improvement, traditional and modern buildings, for more than the £965,000 guide.

Beulah Farm, just into east Devon, is a residential unit with an elevated but private site on the edge of Axminster. Its proximity to the town offers future development potential, says Symonds & Sampson, joint agent with Greenslade Taylor Hunt.
