Poultry Event

Pig and Poultry Fair LIVE '09

Gaining a better understanding of the whole food chain will enable pig and poultry businesses to identify new market opportunities and thereby secure their future.

And that’s why the new Pig and Poultry Fair LIVE ’09 event is today set to become a valuable addition to the pig and poultry calendar.

The starting point when seeking new opportunities is to gain a valuable insight into the mind of the consumer. James Northern of the Institute of Grocery Distribution will address this by outlining research by the Institute and the Oxford Farming Conference.

He aims to help answer many of the key questions for the supply chain, including what influences consumer buying habits and, importantly, how have they changed with the economic downturn?

Also at the event, organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of England (RASE) in partnership with ABN, delegates will hear Martin Williams of Shirlaws Business Coaching deliver positive guidance on how to position your business for growth.

But what sets this event out from others is the headline debate - “The supply chain LIVE – what's its view?”

Hosted by BBC Countryfile presenter Adam Henson, the debate will use live interactive voting technology allowing you, as well as key representatives from all parts of the food chain to air their opinions.

Later in the day, speakers will address feed price volatility, a key challenge affecting both the pig and poultry sectors. On offer will be advice and tips allowing you to reduce your exposure to volatility.

So by bringing together key specialists from all parts of the food chain under one roof, the Pig and Poultry Fair LIVE ’09 event aims to tackle the industry’s challenges by taking a whole chain approach.

This event will help you:

•    Contribute towards a long term profitable supply chain
•    Understand others within the chain
•    Debate the issues that matter
•    Influence policy makers and other industry sectors
•    Improve profitability for the whole chain
•    Network with suppliers and other producers
•    Gather technical information specific to your business
