Bidding peaks at 2450gns at Terling sale

 

A top price of 2450gns was paid at the first sale to disperse the Terling Holstein herd when almost 400 head went under the hammer at Beeston Castle Auction.

 

Lord Rayleighs Farms, Chelmsford offered the entire milking portion along with in-calf heifers and heifer calves. Top call came for Terling Bonna Jean 58th, a 2009-bred heifer that calved in January. She is by Emerald-Acr-Sa T-Baxter and with a sire stack that includes Braedale River and Formation. Buyers were C A Vaughan and Son, Nantwich, Cheshire.

 

The second calver Terling Total Eclipse 773rd made 2150gns to T G and D M Watchorn Ltd. Melton Mowbray. She is by Far-O-La Devoted and out of a  13,344kg dam by Altagen Smarty and gave 10,911kg in her first lactation.

 

Also at 2150gns was Terling Leilani 38th, a May 2009-bred heifer by Paradise-DND Suede and out of a Devoted dam. Buyer was D Harrison, Wigton, Cumbria.

 

Leading the in-calf heifers at 2150gns was Terling Leilani 43rd, a Gillette Capital daughter who goes to East Dereham, Norfolk with Robert Paterson.
