Limousin bullock tops £1,365 at Borderway weekly sale

Despite the improved weather conditions and a smaller entry of store cattle put forward, prices remained high at the weekly sale at Borderway Mart, Carlisle.

A total of 234 store cattle went under the hammer, with a top price of £1,365 achieved for a Limousin bullock from Messrs Roe, Croft House, Burgh by Sands.  They also achieved £1,350 for another Limousin bullock.

Heifers peaked at £1,150 for again a Limousin from this same good home. Also on this day the mart held their first sale for Native bred store cattle where a good number was forward and topped at £1,075 for an Aberdeen Angus bullock from Mr JR Holliday, Townfoot, Hunsonby,   Penrith, whilst heifers sold to £960 for a Galloway heifer from Messrs H & WG Robley, Townfoot, Cumwhitton, Carlisle.
