Former Royal Highland Show breed and reserve interbreed champion Brockhurst Batik led the trade at today’s production sale for Doug Mash’s Brockhurst Limousin herd, selling at 22,000gns.

This Grahams Samson daughter is out of Talent daughter Ronick McAinsi, herself a multi-award winning show cow, having been breed champion at the Royal Show in 2004. Sold in-calf to Brockhurst Centurion, April 2006-born Batik was knocked down to the breed’s perennial big spender Peter Smith for the Ironstone herd, Banbury.

MaAinsi was again behind the next best call of 7000gns was made by an undisclosed north east England-based buyer when securing ET-bred heifer Brockhurst Fuzzy. This September 2010 calf is by Ronick Matador and is again out of Ronick McAinsi. She sold suckling a Simmental cross dam.

Then at 5400gns the same undisclosed buyer took another Matador-sired ET heifer, this time Brockhurst Freestyle. She is out of French cow Reseda, a Malibu daughter and was born in November.

Making 3800gns was the best of the ET bull calves on offer Brockhurst George. This Grahams Samson sired January-born bull is again out of McAinsi and sold to J S Adam, Lochgilphead, Argyll.

A 3500gns sale saw Milton Keynes-based buyers R O Adam and Son take home bull calf Brockhurst Firkin. This one is a full ET brother to the 5400gns heifer calf and was born in September.

At the same money was a Wilodge Vantastic-sired bull calf, again ET bred out of McAinsi. Born last July, this one was knocked down to breed newcomer Adam Neachall, better known for his Cromwell British Blue herd.

Just shy of that at 3400gns was a Ramses-sired heifer out of McAinsi, again an ET calf this September heifer sold on a British Blue cross dam and went to B Doherty, Binley, Coventry.

Following on at 3300gns was a daughter of 50,000gns bull Wilodge Cerberus, Brockhurst Fidget. ET bred out of French cow Castille, an Adour daughter, she is a July 2010-born heifer and was again knocked down to the same undisclosed north east England-based undisclosed buyer.

And selling for 3000gns was 2003-born cow Brockhurst Ulima. Sired by Bailea Joplin and out of Ironstone Marion, a Gabarit daughter, this one sold with a Brockhurst Timbuktu-sired heifer calf at foot and was knocked down to M R Whitlock, Coventry. She was in-calf again to Brockhurst Centurion. (Harrison and Hetherington).
