A top price of 2300gns was the highlight of this week’s Spring Fever Sale at Sedgemoor, Somerset. Leading the bids was the red VG85, second calver, Xantia. She was giving 30kg with an SCC of 45 and was one of 65 pedigree German cows sold as part of a herd dispersal from Gordon and Mark Davis.
Another VG85 cow by Calbrett-I HH Champion and out of a dam by Boss Iron, sold for the next best price of 2150gns. Both cows travelled to different purchasers in Devon.
The next highest price of 2020gns went to Roland and Simon Bugler’s heifer, Bettiscombe James Ebony PI by Shormar James. She goes back to a Wyevalley 11,000kg grand dam.
