Paul Bolland, Airton, Skipton purchased both the champion and reserve champion newly calved heifers on Thursday (15 March) at Gisburn Auction Marts Pedigree Dairy Show and Sale. Exhibited by first time vendor Anthony Bretherton, Whitechapel, Preston they sold for £2200 & £2120.

Top sale price of the day also came from Mr Bretherton with a Poos Stadel Classic BLF heifer selling at £2450 to Chris Harrison, Elslack, Skipton.

There was an excellent show of heifers on offer with 11 making £2000 or more. These included an entry of five from Fred Parkinson, Chipping, Preston selling for £2300 twice and averaging £2150. 1st prize cow was from W A Booth, Feizor, Austwick, a typical Comestar Outside giving 41 litres she sold to John Coar, Waddington, Clitheroe.

Colin Price, Clapham sold a fourth lactation Pursuit September Storm cow at £1900 to Colin Middleton, Whalley, Clitheroe.

10 Bulling heifers made to £1220 and averaged £990. Heifer calves sold to £380.
