Dorset trade at last week’s annual May Fair at Exeter topped at 2600gns for David Rossiter’s reserve champion Huish Leader. This one is by Oliver Tree High Society and out of a homebred dam by Ramsden Dingan and carried a terminal sire index of 347 and a maternal index of 227.

At 2000gns was the pre-sale show champion Downkiilybegs Lancelot from William and Karen Carson’s Northern Irish flock. This is a grandson of New Zealand-bred sire high Plains 147-04 and has an index of 386. High Plains 147-04 is a Loinmax carrier.

Topping the female sale was Manorcroft Landlady from C and T Clarke, Crediton at 580gns. This ewe lamb is by Trevilley Forcer and out of a homebred dam by Hilltop Daytona. The same vendors sold another ewe lamb at 520gns, this time Manorcroft Leona, also by Forcer and out of a Daytona sired dam.
