A top call of 3900gns was the highlight of the dispersal sale of the milking portion of the Wilson family’s much sought after ‘Snow’ Holstein Herd at Carlisle yesterday. The included 70 cows and heifers, all calved since late November to early April.

 

Their December calved heifer, Snow Minnie 33, sold for the day’s top price of 3900gns to C M Haigh, Newton Stewart. This one was by Braedale Freelance and from a line of high yielding, long wearing Excellent rated dams.

 Snow Ridge Janet 52, went for the next best price of 3000gns. She is a second calved cow by Braedale Goldwyn and from Snow Ridge Janet 44. She sold to N and S J Sanderson, Lanercost.

 

The next top price of 2800gns was shared by two entries. The first of which was Snow Minnie Nora Red by Carrousel Regiment Red. She went to D R Horsley, Penrith.

 

Snow Car Margaret 28 by Gillette Brilea and from Snow Car Margaret 20, went to Messrs Bargh, Penrith for the same money.
