Aberdeen Angus bulls top at 2800gns at Carlisle

Two bulls made the top price of 2800gns at the Aberdeen Angus Show and Sale at Carlisle this week.

 

The first of which was the reserve male champion from the pre show sale, Moncur Fortune H102.

 

This bull, by Curzon Entertainer C088 and out of Moncur FIFI C040 was sold by G C Taylor Farms, Moncur, Perthshire to J Carruthers and Son, 3 Woodhall, Annan, Dumfriesshire.

 

At the same money was another bull put forward by the same vendor. Moncur Entertainer H110, is by Moncur Jacob Eric F063 and out of Moncur Edwina D049. He sold to J Forrest of Whitlaw, Berwickshire.

 

An un-haltered female made the next best price of 2000gns. Craigbeck Eloise G413 was put forward by Mrs Catriona McKeane, Cowthat, Ecclefechan, Dumfriesshire and sold to Messrs Pirie, North Cote, Kincardineshire.

 

This entry is by Ballavitchel Red Eriksson B281 and out of Craigbeck Elaine C145.

 

Messrs Pirie also purchased Craigbeck ELF G404 from Mrs Mckeane for the same money.

 

At 1800gns was an entry from Messrs J and J Campbell, Wedderlie, Berwickshire. The bull, Wedderlie Possability H603 by Wedderlie Black Boss E950 and out of Wedderlie Popmark D720 sold for 1800gns to P McDonald, Pheasants Nest Farm, Weston, Buckinghamshire.

 

Close behind was an entry from Mr and Mrs M D Story, Hobbiesburn, Longtown, Carlisle. Their bull, Border Lyne Gannimeade H088 sold for 1500gns to Victory Cattle, Rosmindle, County Mayo.

 

This one is by Hardlawbank Blackmail C206 and out of Border Lyne Gelerstia.

 

In the served or maiden heifer section, Winwick Paris F082 sold for the same money to Mr Mcdonald. This one is by Wicken of Haymount and out of Winwick Pollyanna D056.
