Aberdeen Angus cattle society chief executive Ron McHattie has announced he will be retiring from the post after 18 years in the role.
Mr McHattie, who came to the society from a farming and business background, said he will be taking early retirement due to health reasons.

Mr McHattie has been involved in a number of initiatives, including the growth of Pedigree Cattle Services and the use of the ABRI Breedplan system.
Commenting on his departure, Mr McHattie said: “I am sorry to be leaving the role and could not have achieved everything I have without the support of a loyal and dependable office staff and the backing of a succession of society presidents and council members.
The position of Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society chief executive will be advertised from today (Friday 1 May).
