Friday’s sale of Aberdeen-Angus at Carlisle saw prices hit a high of 7500gns with 51 bulls sold to average a healthy £3046.03.

Leading the sale was the reserve senior champion from the pre-sale show Eckington Titan from Judy Gardner. This Auldhouseburn Karlos son is out of Nightingale Tibbie, a G D A Universe daughter. He sold to BW Farming, Selkirk.(hutch)10bW.jpgSecond best call of the day at 6000gns was shared by two bulls. First to trade at this price was Blelack Lord Harold from Neil and Graeme Massie. This Blelack Blackgem son is out of Blelack Lady Heather, a Blelack Lord Gold daughter and has a TSI of +40 and an SRI of +40. He was bought by J A Baxter, Gamrie, Banff.(hutch)72w.jpgThe other at this price was Haymount Galazor from the Arnott family. Sired by Blelack Evor he is out of Haymount Galaza, a Lockerley Kruz daughter and has a TSI of +25 and an SRI of +30. He found a new home with J Gray, Alnwick having been junior and overall champion in the pre-sale show.(hutch)77w.jpgThen making 5500gns was the reserve junior and reserve overall champion Newbank Dazzler from M and S Wilson and Sons. He is a Moncur Jacob Eric son out NEwbank Dew, a Glenmoy James Eric daughter and has a TSI of +21 and an SRI of +25. He sold to Philiphaugh Estate, Selkirk.(hutch)41w.jpgA pair then sold at 4200gns, with the first being John Gilmour’s Belhaven Espionage, a Muirhall Double Edition son out of Rawburn Eroline, a Rawburn Transformer daughter. Selling with a TSI of +30 and an SRI of +48 he was knocked down to A McCreadie, Hawick.

And the other transaction at this money was made for Duncanziemere Extra from Alistair Clark. This one is by the same sire as the top priced bull, Auldhouseburn Karlos, and is out of Duncanziemere Extasy, a Newcairnie Pastor daughter. He was bought by Messrs Jenkinson, Hartley, Kirkby Stephen.

Selling for 4000gns was the senior champion from the pre-sale show Habeath Kirk from Halbeath Farms. This Idvies Elmonarch son is out of Halbeath Kay, a Netherton Fabulous Cruz daughter and has a TSI of +24 and an SRI of +34. He went to Kesrquarter Aberdeen-Angus, Kelso.

In the females on offer the best price was a 2000gns bid for Tree Bridge Polly Perkins H206 from D and P A Evans. Sired by Chapelton Dark Mahmoud and out of Polly Perkins of Tree Bridge, she has a TSI of +15 and an SRI of +18. Sold with her heifer calf, Tree Bridge Polly Perkins L338, at foot, she went to L and N Barnforth, Slaithwaite.

Then making 1700gns was Shelau Kaylee J163 from James and Jean Reid. She is by P A R B Design Plus 97 and out of Shelau Kaylee, a Shelau Bailey daughter. She went with a TSI of +26 and an SRI of +37 to Maxwell Farming Company, Thornhill, Dumfriesshire.

Averages; 51 bulls £3046.03, six served and maiden heifers £1365, one cow and calf £2100 (Harrison and Hetherington).
