The overall commercial cattle championship has just been completed after a long day’s jugding here at Borderway Mart for Aarfon Jones.

And, taking the overall championship spot were Michael and Melanie Alford, Devon, with their 496kg heifer Aleandro. This is by a Limousin x British Blue sire and out of a British Blue x Limousin dam. She has previously won a lightweight heifer class at South West Beef Expo and now heads on to the East of England Winter Stock Festival and the English, Scottish and Welsh Winter Fairs. She was bred by Stephen Lee, Agars Hill, Whitfield, and bought privately by the Alfords.TS Agri.Champion.jpgTaking the reserve overall ticket was Blossom, a Ronick Hawk sired heifer from Kevin and Dawn Ludgate, Bedfordshire. This one is out of the couple’s successful show heifer Big Bum and has previously been commercial champion at Edenbridge and Oxted and also at Newbury. This one tipped the scales at 580kg.TS Agri.
