This year’s Borderway Agri-Expo is adding to its competitive livestock classes with sections being introduced for dairy cattle and Mule ewe lambs.
The dairy classes will see an across breeds competition for the best heifer in milk and best cow in milk of any breed. Judging these classes will be Holstein breeder Rebecca Jarvis, Yorkshire.
Meanwhile, placing the Mule ewe lambs will be well known sheep farmer and finisher John Barker.
As well as these new sections, the Aberdeen-Angus calf show and national Youth Development finals will be at the event, as will the Border Club British Blue calf show and the national Hereford Calf Show. Organiser David Pritchard of Harrison and Hetherington says the new additions should broaden the appeal of the event to all involved in livestock production.
