Antimicrobials guide updated

SHEEP PRODUCERS now have a tool to ensure they are up to date with antimicrobial guidelines, bringing them in line with new legislation and best practice.

Launched by the NSA at the Welsh Winter Fair in conjunction with RUMA, the updated Responsible Use of Antimicrobials in Sheep Production recognises considerable changes to appropriate use of medicines in the sheep sector, says NSA’s Peter Morris.

Mr Morris believes this will be particularly important in terms of tighter margins and problems such as wormer resistance, as well as being able to move forward with assurance schemes. Guidelines are available from RUMA (01438 717 900).
