Beeston mid month dairy sale tops £2,650

Trade topped at £2,650 at the first mid month dairy sale at Beeston last week (30 Jan), with auctioneers reporting “tremendous trade from start to finish.”

Sale leader was Aintree Soccer Trix Red 298 from David Bramall, Minshull Vernon, Middlewich.

Sired by C Haven Soccer P Red she is out of a the second generation of excellent scored dams.

She was bought by J and SA Whitehurst, Bramshall, Uttoxeter.

Next best when selling for £2,550 to David Guy, Middlewich, was Clayden Horatio Satin, forward by JH Wynn and Partners, Whitchurch. Sired by Clayden Horatio she is out of a Shottle bred dam.

Then at £2,520 was the first in a good run of heifers from Mark and Ann Bowden, Wigland, Malpas. Their home-bred heifer, Wigland Loader Judy 2 sold giving 35kg to Robert Ford of Brindley, Nantwich.

Brothers Jack and Barclay Taylor, of Myddle, Shrewsbury, had a good day selling to a top of £2,480 for Bictown McCormick Florence. This heifer sold giving 33kg to JG Williams, Nantwich. They also made £2,450 when selling an unregistered heifer to Robert Ford.

Cows sold to a high of £2,350 for an outstanding second calved daughter of Outside from Haydn James of Northampton. She sold giving 44 kg to W and R and E Pritchard of Anglesey.

Topping the coloured breed section was a super Fleckvieh heifer from J and S Richardson of Ellesmere, which sold for £1,990 to Johnathan Scott of Hanmer, Whitchurch.

Ayrshires topped at £1,850 for daughter of Lagace Modem from H Tinker and Son of Rotherham. Meanwhile Dairy Shorthorns sold to £1860 for an unregistered heifer from Howard Walmsley, Garstang.

Served heifers topped £1,380 three times for ones due in February and March. All were unregistered and from AJ Thompson and Sons, Kent, Hollington Farms, Essex, and B and C Lampard Partnership, Nuneaton. Maiden heifers peaked at to £1,020 for a Go Farm Artes daughter from RC Rout and Sons, Norfolk.

Heifer calves sold to £320 for a daughter of O?Man End Story from the Downing Partnership, Kent with another from the same vendors by Southland Delano making £300. John Gleave, Middlewich sold a Palermo calf for £310.
