British Lion Quality eggs are to sponsor the inaugural Health for Kids Awards, promoting the health benefits of eating eggs to the next generation.

Health for Kids (HFK) is a new initiative supported by the Department of Health and the Department for Education and Skills’ National Healthy Schools programme and Sport England. The aim is to reward any initiative or long term project that has been set up to educate or improve the health of children and young people.

As well as being a Gold sponsor for the overall awards, Lion Quality eggs will have sole sponsorship of the Healthy Eating 12-18 category.

Andrew Parker, chairman of the British Egg Industry Council, said: “We were delighted when the Health For Kids Awards’ organisers approached us to sponsor the awards.  Lion eggs are now regarded as a healthy, safe, top quality, British product and sponsoring these awards will help reinforce this position.”
