British Blue cross heifer takes Beef South West

Taking the primestock title at yesterday’s Beef and Growing Cattle South West event at Hatherleigh, Devon was Darrell, Sarah and Laura Cheaker’s British Blue cross heifer Hattie.

This homebred 545kg heifer was described as being 12 o’clock by judge Willie Seals. Hattie will next put in an appearance at the English Winter Fair at Birmingham in November.

Standing reserve on his first show outing this year was the Limousin cross steer Jumping Jack Flash from Nigel and Elizabeth Bunkum. He will next make an appearance at the Royal Smithfield Christmas Fair.
