Last Friday’s Euro Sale of Continental breeding sheep at Carlisle recorded what can only be described as exceptional prices with the auctioneers reporting all types selling to extreme rates.

Shearlings sold to a top of £250 apiece from Mouldhills, with others of the same breed making £200 and £185/head.

Texel crosses sold to £240 for shearlings from Messrs Ridley, Haltcliffe, while others from Rosehill made £220 each, while the Whites of Midlock sold to £205.

Meanwhile, Millenium Blue shearlings were led at £225/head by entries from Glenart, with others from the same home making £190 and £180 apiece.
