Holstein trade on Wednesday at Carlisle reached a peak of 3200gns when R Steel and Son, Kepculloch, sold a Mr Derry Promotion daughter. This is out of Kepculloch Rud Irina and calved in August. She was bought by B and V Davidson, Errolston, Gretna.

Then at 2350gns was Snow Torch 12 from G and M Wilson and Son. This Shottle daughter is out of a dam which goes back to the Shopland herd and she calved in August too. Buyers this time were A and I Lamont, Sandieston.

Also at this level was Stowbeck Final Cut Jeanie from Skirwith Hall Farms. By Gillette Final Cut and out of Stowbeck Atom Jeanie, this July 2007-born heifer calved in early August. She sold to R Byers and Son, Canonbie.

The final bid above 2000gns was given for another from the Wilson’s Snow herd. This was Snow Bell Honey 9, a Llydan Terrene daughter. Out of a dam by Wa-Del Convincer she sold to David Kincaid, Lochmaben.
