Friday’s sale of Rouge at Carlisle hit a notable high spot of 1400gns when Percy Tait sold his senior ram by Broadwood Dickie. This Knighton tup, out of a dam by Woolneys Dummer sold to P M Howie and Son, Dunning, Perthshire.(hutch)1651w.jpgNext best ram at 1200gns was a lamb from Simon Wright. This Tullyvallen J2 son, Wrights Krakatoa, is out of a dam by Bruiser and stood breed champion at Devon County Show this year. He sold to J Smithson, Kirkby Stephen.(hutch)1700w.jpgThen at 850gns was a shearling from David Jane, Broadwood Jake. This Broadwood Dynamo son is out of a dam by an imported French sire and was bought by J Charlton and Sons, Cleator Moor.

Making the same money was Bennachie Kestrel, a Magherabeg Collin son from Patricia Imlah. Out of a dam by Bennachie Allstar, he sold to D J and G A Watkins, Craswell.(hutch)1685w.jpgMrs Imlah re-invested some of her earnings when buying a shearling from David Jane at 650gns. This was Broadwood Jason, another Dynamo son. He is out of a Garlic Freighter daughter. Also at this money was  another from Mrs Imlah’s own flock, Bennachie Knockout, a Ruval Franko son. He went to A M and P M Bowman and Son, Kirkoswald.

The final dispersal of David Jane’s Broadwood flock led the way in the female trade, with his first shearling ewe in the ring topping the trade at 1300gns. This one was Broadwood Japonica, a Garlic First Gold daughter out of a Dynamo daughter.
