Charollais rams sell to 600gns thrice at Carlisle

Charollais rams topped 600gns thrice at Carlisle Multi-breed sale last week (29 August).

 

Joint leader was an April 2013 twin born ram from Robert Whittaker, Jedburgh, Roxburghshire. Sired by Rhaeadr Midas he was bought by JR and G Walton and Son, Barnard Castle, Co Durham.

 

At the same money was a ram lamb from FH and M Kennedy, Parkgate, Dumfries. He is sired by Rhaeadr Nock, which was purachsed at Worcester in 2013 for 4,000gns and is out of a Edstaston Head Master daughter. Buyer was R Iceton, Barnard Castle, Co Durham.

 

Last at 600gns was the supreme champion ram lamb from Ben Radley, Georgetown, Dumfries. Sired by Wernfawr Neo he was purchased by PW Rhodes, Ulverston, Cumbria.

Averages: two aged ram, £420; 19 shearling rams, £436; 22 ram lambs, £361.30; and 18 shearling and aged ewes, £216.75.
