Cogent secures exclusive distribution rights

Cogent Breeding has secured exclusive UK semen distribution rights for Belgian Blue AI stud Avenir Belgimex.

The agreement was reached between the breeding company and the stud, after the acquisition of top-selling Belgian Blue heavyweight Imperial de l’Ecluse.

Imperial was chosen on a visit to the stud by Cogent beef specialist Boomer Birch and breeders Adam Neachel from Cromwell Blues, and Andrew Price from Bedgebury Blues.

The stud’s export manager, Pieter Freson, said: “I believe the Belgimex product suits both pedigree and commercial farmers, and Imperial is ideal for the UK market with his colouring and pedigree.”
