Cull cattle were in demand on yesterday (13 June) at Gisburn Auction Marts. The top pence per kilo price of the day was from Ian Handley, Chapel le Dale, Ingleton, Carnforth with a six year old Limousin cow, weighing 700kgs. She sold for 197p/kg or £1379. Next best was again from the same vendor was another Limousin cow, this time weighing 714kgs. She sold for 193p/kg or £1378.
Topping the price per head section was from Nicky Capstick, Bolton by Bowland, Clitheroe, with a Holstein Friesian, weighing 840kgs, which sold for £1,412. Several other vendors were in the money when a total of 26 cattle sold in excess of £1,000, with overall cull cattle averaging 140p/kg or £872 per head
