There was a very large entry of cull ewes for the time of year at Ashford market in Kent which auctioneers Hobbs Parker say was probably due to the solid trade seen here in recent weeks. This week’s ewes were a complete contrast in terms of quality compared to last week. An excellent show of meated ewes met a strong trade. Even the leaner grazers on offer were making in excess of £70 per head. The overall average at £72 a head was £4 above the national average for the day.
