Dairy farmers have been invited to debate the future of CAP reform with the publication of a CAP update.

Dairy UK has produced ‘The Debate on the CAP’, which explains the key issues and likely timetable for any changes.

The publication is set to outline the issues likely to be covered at a Dairy UK conference next year.

The seminar, on 16 February, will see industry leaders including Rudolf Schmidt, Defra dairy policy advisor, and Andrew Lawrence, head of CAP strategy division, discuss the future of the reform.

Jim Begg, Dairy UK director general, said CAP reforms could have far reaching implications for the UK dairy industry.

“The industry needs to participate fully in this debate and the event will provide the starting point from which Dairy UK will develop its policy position which we will feed into discussions and negotiations as they unfold over the next two years,” he added.
